Player Season Stats
Forward Martha Thomas joined us in September, 2023, from Manchester United.
The Scotland international continued to be a reliable, hard-working individual in our frontline in 2024/25. Martha made 26 appearances in all competitions for us in 2024/25, scoring once, including 22 games in the WSL – the first time in her career she has featured in every game in England’s top flight.
She also reached a personal milestone in the WSL as she achieved a century of appearances in the competition in March, 2024.
Born in Wiltshire before moving to the United States at a young age, Martha represented Charlotte 49ers in college soccer, where she was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017.
She began her professional career in France with Le Havre in 2018/19 before arriving in the Women's Super League with a two-year spell at West Ham United, where she scored 10 goals in 33 games.
Martha moved north to join Manchester United in 2021 and was a Women's FA Cup finalist with the Red Devils last season, scoring eight goals in 53 appearances for them across the last two campaigns.
Our number 17 made an instant impact in our colours with a goal on her debut in the 2023/24 WSL season opener against Chelsea in October, 2023, and later in that month, she also became the first Spurs player to score a hat-trick in the top tier in our memorable 4-2 victory at Aston Villa.
Scoring 10 goals in all competitions in her maiden campaign for us, she was at the heart of some memorable moments in the campaign, netting that historic goal against Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December, 2023, to clinch our first-ever WSL win over the Gunners.
Martha then helped us create history in the FA Cup by heading home the winner in the semi-final tie with Leicester City in N17, with her goal deep in extra-time taking us to the final for the first time in May, 2024.
She represents Scotland at international level and won the Pinatar Cup with them in 2020, where she was joint-top scorer, and also enjoyed an impressive UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 qualifying tournament, scoring seven goals in their eight qualifiers to help her country finish top of their group.
