Player Season Stats
Captain Bethany England joined us from Chelsea in January, 2023.
Having scored 21 goals in 35 appearances in her first two seasons at the Club, our skipper maintained a strong run of goalscoring form last term, scoring eight goals in 23 appearances in all competitions for us, and her displays saw her pick up our Adult Supporters’ Player of the Season award.
And she also wrote her name into the WSL history books on two occasions in 2024/25. Her brace against Crystal Palace in January, 2025, saw her become the first player to have scored against every side in the competition and, in March, she then netted a quarter of a century of goals for the Club in the WSL, becoming the first player to score 25+ goals with two different teams.
Completing a move midway through 2022/23 season, Bethany’s impact was huge for the second half of the campaign.
Scoring 13 goals in 14 games in all competitions, 12 of those in the WSL, she helped us secure safety in England’s top flight and was later recognised for her terrific start to life in N17, being named both our Adult and Junior Supporters’ Player of the Season.
Named captain ahead of the 2023/24 season, Bethany was ruled out for large parts of the opening months after undergoing a minor surgical procedure on her hip. She returned for our home clash with Manchester United in December, 2023, and went on to complete 21 games in the campaign, scoring eight goals in all competitions.
Bethany began her career with Doncaster Rovers Belles before joining Chelsea in 2016.
Following a successful loan spell at Liverpool, she excelled for Emma Hayes’ side in 2019/20, when she scored 21 goals in all competitions and won the Women’s Super League Player of the Season award.
She went on to make 163 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 74 goals, and won nine major trophies.
Bethany represented her country at Under-19 and Under-23 levels before shining for the senior side. Part of Sarina Wiegman’s squad that won Euro 2022, she scored six goals in the qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA World Cup and was a finalist with the Lionesses at that tournament.
