Player Season Stats

Arriving from Coventry United in the summer of 2017, Ashleigh Neville is now the longest-serving member of our Women’s first team squad.

Season 2024/25 – Ash’s eighth at Spurs – proved to be a history-making year for the defender in terms of appearances as, in February, 2025, she became the first Spurs player to have reached 100 WSL appearances while playing for us.

A model of consistency throughout her time in Lilywhite to date, she featured in 26 of our 27 games during the campaign, starting in 22, and only missed one game in England’s top flight, creating two assists this term.

Joining us ahead of our first season in the FA Women’s Championship, Ash was named our Player of the Season in her maiden campaign for the Club as she made 21 appearances in the second tier, scoring once, to help us finish seventh in the table.

Operating at left-back, she impressed again in the Championship in 2018/19, starting 19 of our 20 games and scoring four goals, including two memorable second-half headers to complete a stunning turnaround at Charlton in April, 2019 – a result that saw us take a giant leap towards securing promotion.

She picked up the league’s Player of the Month award for that same month – the first defender to claim the prize – and produced a last-ditch goal-line clearance in the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa in May, 2019, that finally saw us over the line and secured a place in the top tier.

Stepping up to the WSL with us in 2019/20, she played mainly at right-back and made 16 appearances in all competitions, which was curtailed in March due to COVID-19, once again proving herself to be a reliable figure in the team.

In the following campaign, she again featured at right-back during the 2020/21 campaign and netted her first goal in England’s top flight in a 1-1 draw with Reading in November, 2020, which was quickly followed by her second goal in the competition just a week later - in a 2-2 draw with Bristol City. She went on to complete 12 WSL appearances and played a further five times in the cup competitions.

The 2021/22 season saw Neville score two goals and keep six clean sheets in 26 appearances in all competitions and went on to make more than 100 appearances in total for Spurs. It was a historic campaign for the defender, becoming the first Spurs player to have won the WSL’s Player of the Month award in February, 2022, and her impressive displays throughout the year also she her nominated for the competition’s Player of the Season award at the end of the term.

With seven goal involvements (four goals and three assists) in 2022/23, it remains Ash’s best season to date in terms of goal contributions. Her 40-yard strike in our WSL season opener at Leicester City won the league’s Goal of the Month award, becoming the first Spurs player to have won that specific award, and was later voted by our fans as the Goal of the Season. She ended the season with 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring three games, with 22 of those starts.

Ash had another moment to savour in 2023/24 as her start in our away clash with Bristol City in March, 2024, saw her reach 150 appearances for the Club. In total, she featured in 25 of our 32 games, starting in all those matches, which included a historic run in the Women’s FA Cup as we reached the final of the competition for the first time in our history.
