Player Season Stats
Lucas Bergvall made a storming start to his Spurs career in 2024/25.
The Sweden international midfielder - who turned 19 in February, 2025 - featured 45 times in his first season, including 27 appearances in the Premier League and 12 of our 15 matches on the way to UEFA Europa League glory against Manchester United.
However, there was late heartbreak - Lucas picked up an injury before the first leg of our UEL semi-final against Bodo/Glimt, ruling him out for the rest of the season, including the UEL semi-final and final, having played in all 12 matches, starting 10, in the UEL up to that point.
Lucas signed a new, long-term deal in April and his performances were also recognised by the fans as he was named Official Supporters' Clubs (OSC) Player of the Season and took both Player of the Season awards from One Hotspur Members and One Hotspur Juniors. In doing so, he became the first teenager since legendary midfielder Glenn Hoddle (also 19) to be awarded such an accolade.
Lucas joined us from Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgarden in July, 2024, with the move having been agreed in February, 2024.
He was only 16 when he first played for IF Brommapojkarna (BP) in the Superettan, the second tier of Swedish football, and featured 11 times as BP gained promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2022.
His performances caught the eye of clubs across Europe and Lucas opted to stay in Stockholm and join his brother, Theo, at Djurgarden. Lucas progressed again during the 2023 season, making 25 appearances (out of 30) as his side finished fourth in the Allsvenskan.
On the international stage, Lucas is a senior Sweden international, making his debut against Estonia in January, 2024. He has also represented his country at Under-21, Under-19 and Under-17 levels. At the end of the 2024/25 campaign, he had four full caps to his name.
