Player Season Stats
Destiny Udogie recovered from injury to play his part in our UEFA Europa League triumph of 2024/25.
Laid low by a hamstring issue sustained against Wolves on 29 December, Destiny was ruled out until late February, when he returned in our 4-0 win at Ipswich - he missed 12 matches in a key period, including our FA Cup ties against Tamworth and Villa, MD7 and MD8 of the UEFA Europa League and our Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.
However, the powerhouse full-back returned to start both legs of our UEL quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt, semi-final against Bodo/Glimt - he was outstanding in the second leg in Norway - and ran himself into the ground for 90 minutes after starting the final against Manchester United in Bilbao - a key part of a defensive unit that kept clean sheets in the away legs of the quarter and semi-final, and the final.
The Italy international made 36 appearances in total in 2024/25, including 25 in the Premier League and nine in the UEL.
Destiny joined us from Udinese in August, 2022. Initially back on loan in Italy for 2022/23, Destiny made quite an impact on his return to Spurs and his first season in N17 in 2023/24.
Immediately into Ange Postecoglou's starting XI, Destiny made his debut for us in the Premier League opener at Brentford and caught the eye with his strength defensively and powerful runs forward. His performances were rewarded with a new deal until 2030, signed in December, 2023.
Destiny made 30 appearances in all competitions in 2023/24, including 28 starts in the Premier League, where he scored in wins against Newcastle and Brentford and picked up three assists. He was later shortlisted for the Premier League's Young Player of the Season award. Unfortunately, a quadriceps issue ended his season early in April, 2024.
Destiny earned his first senior Italy cap against Malta in October, 2023 and, a few days later, performed admirably against England in a Euro 2024 qualifier at Wembley.
Having progressed through the ranks at Hellas Verona, Destiny made his professional debut in November, 2020.
The following year, he joined Udinese on loan - a deal which turned permanent in July, 2022 - and in his debut season with the Italian side he made 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.
An Italy Under-21 international, Destiny won his first cap at that level in September, 2021, in a European Championship qualifying fixture against Luxembourg. His performances in 2023/24 earned his first senior call and cap against Malta in October, 2023. At the end of 2024/25, he had 12 caps to his name.
