Goalkeeper Samual Archer was born and raised in Hertford and played for local side Hertford Town as a youngster before joining our Academy.
Sam attended Richard Hale School, where he excelled at tennis, and has family roots in South Africa.
He went full-time as a scholar with us in 2023 and got a taste of senior football during the 2023/24 season with a 'work experience' loan spell at non-league Barton Rovers.
He became captain of our Under-18s in 2024/25, starting regularly at that level, and was one of the older members of the squad that won the Under-17 Premier League Cup, named on the bench in the final as we beat Charlton Athletic to lift the trophy.
He made his Under-21s debut in an EFL Trophy match against Swindon Town's senior side in November, 2024, and signed his first professional contract in March, 2025.
