George Abbott

Midfielder George Abbott joined the Club at Under-8 level.

He usually operates as a central defensive midfielder in front of the back four but has also demonstrated his versatility by filling in across the defensive line.

Born in Islington and brought up in Muswell Hill, he was a pupil at The London Oratory School.

He went full-time with our Under-18s in 2021, signing his first professional contract in March, 2023, and making his first team debut in our final-day Premier League victory at Leeds United two months later.

Part of our Under-17 and Under-18 Premier League Cup double-winning side in 2022/23, he was captain of the Under-21 side that won the Premier League 2 title the following season, scoring in the end-of-season play-off final against Sunderland at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

George had a successful loan spell at Notts County in 2024/25, producing some excellent performances to help his side reach the League Two play-offs. He won the EFL Goal of the Season award for his fantastic strike against Accrington Stanley in January, 2025 - an effort which also won the Sky Bet Goal of the Month accolade - while he was also shortlisted for League Two Young Player of the Season.
