Pape Matar Sarr's Senegal progressed to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations by defeating Yves Bissouma's Mali 1-0 on Friday evening.
The midfielder's nation overcame Yves' Mali thanks to a first-half effort from Everton Iliman Ndiaye, who tapped home from close range after goalkeeper Djigui Diarra spilled Krepin Diatta's cross.
Mali's task became even more difficult on the stroke of half-time when they were reduced to 10 men as Yves picked up his second booking of the game.
Yves was making his 46th appearance for his country while Pape was an unused substitute.
Pape's country will now face the winner of Egypt and Ivory Coast in a semi-final clash - their third in the last four editions of the tournament - on Wednesday 14 January in Tangier.
