Internationals | Spence’s Jamaica record important victory in Concacaf Championship qualifiers

Sat 11 April 2026, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Drew Spence’s Jamaica made it three wins out of three in their Concacaf Championship qualifiers after an impressive victory over Antigua and Barbuda in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The experienced midfielder began the game among the substitutes but was introduced in the second half for the Reggae Girls as they ran out 4-0 winners at Independence Park in Kingston.

Khadija Shaw netted in stoppage time of the first period to open the scoring for her nation before scoring twice in 10 minutes after the restart to complete her hat-trick. Deneisha Blackwood then converted from the penalty spot to round off a perfect evening for Jamaica.

That result put Jamaica top of Group B in their Concacaf Championship qualifiers with nine points from three games, scoring 25 goals and conceding just twice.

So, as long as Spence and Jamaica avoid defeat to Guyana on 19 April, they will qualify for the finals of the Championship.
