Tandberg your HSBC Player of the Match after impressive win at Everton

Cathinka Tandberg has been named your HSBC Player of the Match after her impressive full debut in the 2-0 win at Everton.

Making her first start at Goodison Park after joining from Hammarby IF earlier this month, the Norway international has taken the majority of your votes to claim her first award of the campaign.

Leading our attack on Merseyside, the 21-year-old was heavily involved in both our goals as we maintained our perfect start to the Barclays Women’s Super League, making it six points out of six while also preserving back-to-back clean sheets for the first time in March, 2024.

Just under 30 minutes into her first start in our colours, ‘Tinka’ made an instant impact in front of over 6,000 supporters inside Goodison Park as she provided the assist for Olga Ahtinen’s opener with a clever flick to the midfielder inside the box to help us break the deadlock in the first period.

Then, four minutes after the restart, the imposing forward opened her account for the Club in sensational style. Having spotted Courtney Brosnan off her line throughout the first half and receiving the ball around 40 yards out after some excellent pressing from captain Bethany England, our number 19 sent an audacious first-time lob over the back-peddling shot stopper and into the back of the net.

As well as helping us to double our advantage, Tinka put in a strong all round performance on the pitch, winning the most duels (12) in the contest, as she provided a useful outlet in our build-up play.
