Will Lankshear bagged his third goal in five Championship games for Oxford United to help them to a 2-2 home draw with Leicester City on Saturday.
Our on-loan striker opened the scoring in the ninth minute at the Kassam Stadium, sliding home Michal Helik’s cut-back after goalkeeper Jacub Stolarczyk couldn’t hold a Matt Phillips volley.
Jordan Ayew was gifted an equaliser before the Foxes went down to 10 men, Aaron Ramsey given his marching orders. Boubakary Soumare’s own goal gave United the lead once more, but Ricardo Pereira levelled again in the 55th minute and that’s how it stayed.
The result marked Oxford’s second consecutive 2-2 home draw following the same result against Coventry City last time out and yielded their second point of the campaign.
Will, who also scored against Coventry, in addition to hitting the target against Hull City in mid-August, was withdrawn as part of a double substitution in the 89th minute.
The forward has made six appearances in all competitions for Oxford to date, having also featured against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup.
