Son's 'Olimpico' wins OSC Goal of the Season award

Thu 15 May 2025, 17:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son's astonishing ‘Olimpico’ against Manchester United has been named the Goal of the Season by our Official Supporters' Clubs (OSC).

Coming in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against the Red Devils, our captain scored what would be the decisive fourth goal direct from a corner kick in the closing stages of our 4-3 victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December, 2024.

Controlling the cup tie at 3-0 up in the 54th minute courtesy of a Dominic Solanke double and Dejan Kulusevski, the visitors struck back to make it 3-2 with 20 minutes remaining until our South Korean star produced a moment of magic rarely seen when his pinpoint in-swinging corner looped over goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to nestle directly into the far corner.

Coming two minutes from time, that turned out to be the match winner after Jonny Evans headed in to make it 4-3 deep into stoppage time in what was one of three wins over the Manchester club this term.

With United a familiar foe in an all-English UEFA Europa League Final on 21 May, the fourth and final meeting between the two sides takes on the greatest significance as we compete for European glory at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao.
