Keeley earns first Republic of Ireland call-up

Wed 14 May 2025, 14:04|Tottenham Hotspur

Josh Keeley has earned his first senior call-up for the Republic of Ireland for their upcoming friendlies with Senegal and Luxembourg.

The goalkeeper, who has trained with the senior side before in 2024, joins former Academy graduate Troy Parrott in a 24-man squad for the fixtures on Friday 6 June and Tuesday 10 June.

He's been recognised after an outstanding loan spell with Leyton Orient, which has seen him keep 16 clean sheets - including six in a row across December - in addition to scoring an iconic FA Cup goal as Richie Wellens' side secured a play-off place on the final day of the League One season.

It marks the first time the 21-year-old has been called up by his country since last representing the Under-21s in November, with his last cap at that level coming a month prior, in a 2-2 draw with Latvia in Tallaght.

He earned 10 caps at that level between his first call-up in June, 2023, and that draw with Latvia last year, keeping a clean sheet on debut in a 3-0 win over Kuwait and going on to keep a further three clean sheets across his time with the squad.
