It has been a full circle moment for Molly Bartrip in Lilywhite after she penned a new deal with the Club.
Committing her future until 2028 earlier this week, the experienced defender will become one of the longer serving members of the playing squad, with the 2025/26 set to be her fifth campaign in N17.
And, although she initially joined the Club as a senior player in July, 2021, from Reading, her journey at Hotspur Way started a long time before that.
She was originally part of our Under-10s side during the mid-2000s, before going to spend time in the youth systems at other clubs, and Molly looked back at her special journey at the Club.
I have played with some top players, played against some good teams and I’m thankful for the journey I have had football-wise.
“The first girls’ team for me was the Under-10s at Spurs. I couldn’t believe it, I actually thought it was a joke when they wanted me and I feel my whole career from there has… I have just been really lucky,” she told us.
“I have played with some top players, played against some good teams and I’m thankful for the journey I have had football-wise.
“But it has brought me round to where I first started and that was at Spurs, and like I said, I’m really happy to be here and looking forward to the future.”
Our number five wrote her name in our history book during last term as she reached a century of appearances for the Club in all competitions, becoming just the fourth player in the current squad to have achieved that feat, and it was a proud moment for Molly.
“When you think about it, 100 appearances, it’s kind of scary – that’s a lot of games!” she smiled.
“I’m really proud and feel very lucky to achieve that. I don’t want to stop there, I want to go on to more, but I need to prove myself that way and show that I’m at the level to do that.”
