Ben Davies captained Wales to a commanding 3-0 victory against Liechtenstein in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying on Friday evening.

Earning his 95th cap, Ben started alongside Brennan Johnson as Wales completely dominated the Group J encounter in Cardiff - Craig Bellamy's team racked up 26 efforts at goal to Liechtenstein's zero.

The Spurs team-mates both went close in a frustrating start to the game - Ben headed just wide, Brennan denied by Benjamin Buchel - before the important breakthrough from former Spur Joe Rodon on 39 minutes. Harry Wilson and Kieffer Moore added a quickfire double in the second half for the final 3-0 scoreline.

Ben completed a full shift, Brennan played for 64 minutes and the pair now travel to Belgium for their next qualifier top of the group after three games.

It wasn't such good news for Destiny Udogie in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying as Italy were beaten 3-0 by Norway in Oslo in their first match in Group I. Destiny started and played 83 minutes. Norway top the group with three wins in three.

Staying in Group I, Manor Solomon picked up an assist for the second goal as Israel came from behind to beat Estonia 3-1 at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn.

In friendly action, goalkeeper Josh Keeley was an unused substitute and Pape Matar Sarr didn't feature as the Republic of Ireland and Senegal played out a 1-1 draw at the Aviva in Dublin.

Aaron Maguire did start in goal for Republic of Ireland Under-21s and produced a point-blank save to deny Bruno Durdov as Croatia edged the first of a friendly double-header 1-0 in Vrbovec. Aaron played the first half and kept a clean sheet before being replaced by Noah Jauny. Fabijan Krivak's goal won it for the hosts at the start of the second half.
