Tottenham Hotspur Foundation helped create lasting memories for seriously ill children and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital’s sports day today (Saturday 21 June).
Held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in Enfield, the event welcomed hundreds of young people from one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals.
Our Foundation team delivered inclusive football and flag football activities for the second year running, helping them to keep active through treatment.
Simon Wears, Foundation health and wellbeing manager, said: “Staying active – during treatment and beyond – brings both immediate joy and long-term benefits for young people.
“Seeing them light up as they take part in our activities, no matter their ability or circumstance, is exactly why we do what we do.
“Today was such a special and meaningful occasion for all involved, and we were proud to be part of it.”
The Foundation runs football sessions across Haringey and Enfield, as well as flag football through the Huddle Project. Find out more here.
It also runs health and wellbeing sessions for all ages. Find out more here.
The activities run thanks to support from various funders, such as the Premier League and players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
