We are thrilled to announce the strongest year of A-Level results to date at the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET) – the Club-sponsored Sixth Form college based on Tottenham Hotspur Stadium campus – reaffirming its position as one of the leading academic institutions in our region.

22% of grades were A*, the highest in LAET history, with 55% of grades either A* or A, significantly above national averages, and the majority of students securing places at Russell Group universities or on competitive degree apprenticeships. It has also been a record year for offers to Oxford and Cambridge, with 19 students gaining places, taking the total to 77 since the school opened in 2017.

The school is also celebrating the remarkable success of its first Music cohort, which launched in September 2023 and has resulted in student Emmanuel Ampong securing a place at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music – becoming one of just a select few chosen for its intake for 2025/26.

Emmanuel’s success is the culmination of two years of dedication, discipline and artistic growth, supported by LAET’s expanding Music Department and state-of-the-art facilities.

Speaking about his journey, Emmanuel said: “When I joined in 2023, the LAET music department had just launched, and I could feel the buzz of excitement for something new in the school, with opportunities for hidden talents to be revealed.

“Events like our first LAET Live allowed me to lead and direct music in a way I hadn’t done before, and support from mentors and teachers – including my composition teacher Ms Kennedy, who herself studied at Royal Academy of Music – helped guide me through the audition and application process. I’m excited to be taking this next step at Royal Academy of Music, committing to what’s been in my heart since I was a child.”

This year has also seen a significant number of students secure places on university courses relating to Art, Architecture and Computer Science, including the first student from LAET to study Computer Science at Cambridge, with several also securing competitive degree apprenticeships with an array of employers.

The London Academy of Excellence Tottenham prioritises local students most likely to benefit from an academically rigorous curriculum and those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, giving Tottenham’s brightest students the best possible chance of accessing top universities and competitive careers.

As well as being sponsored by the Club, LAET is supported by principal academic sponsors Highgate School who, in conjunction with other leading independent schools, deliver expert teaching.
