“We want to show a different side to us” | Ho on Sevilla pre-season opener

The first sight of Martin Ho’s side will be at Sevilla on Friday evening (7pm UK time) and our Head Coach pointed out what he’s looking for in our pre-season opener, which will be available to watch live on SPURSPLAY

As part of preparation for the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign, our Women’s first team have been in southern Spain for an intense week of training and has given Martin the perfect opportunity to look at his squad following his arrival in June from SK Brann.

Now, into his fourth week of pre-season, his first fixture as our new Head Coach kicks off on Friday 15 August and he is keen to see the work on the training pitch taken into the game scenario.

Speaking to SPURSLPAY earlier this week, Martin told us: "Seeing the players work towards what we've been doing here, and back in England, how we want them, individually and collectively.

“We want to look a certain way moving forward, how it looks to the eye, how it links to the Club and feels authentic.

“We want to show a different side to us, be more aggressive and on the front-foot, be braver with the ball and with personality. Hopefully, we can do that in this game on Friday [against Sevilla].”

With the game set to be streamed live on SPURSPLAY, Martin outlined what he hopes the supporters will see from his side against the Liga F side.

“I want them to see a Spurs side that’s positive, shows personality with the ball, is brave with it, shows confidence, and likes to handle pressure,” he added.

“More importantly, when we don’t have the ball, we’re ruthless and resilient in our defending and making sure we’re hard to beat.

“We need to be able to tough it out and have moments where we’re confident enough to defend without the ball but when we can get up close, show a bit of aggression and desire to win it back. I’ve no doubt we’ll see that on Friday.”
