Information for fans travelling to Manchester City on Saturday

Supporters making the journey to Manchester for our Premier League fixture encounter against City on Saturday should take note of the following important information...

We will be travelling in numbers, with 3,000 Spurs supporters set to be in attendance at the Etihad Stadium for the 12.30pm kick-off.

Supporters are advised to arrive no later than 60 minutes before kick-off, to allow a smooth entry process. Gates will open at 10.30am.

Getting to the Etihad Stadium

By train

Supporters travelling from London should travel from Euston, where several trains will run throughout the morning to Manchester Piccadilly. with the Etihad Stadium well connected to Manchester’s main train stations by Metrolink trams. Further details and guidance on getting from surrounding stations to the Etihad is available here.

Whatever your plans, please ensure to check up to date timetables and information via the National Rail website.

By car

Supporters travelling from London should expect their journey to take around 4-5 hours, and should be prepared for an increase in traffic due to the Bank Holiday weekend.

Please note that a resident parking scheme is in place in the streets around the Etihad Stadium and this is strictly enforced and identified through on-street signage.

Road closures, lasting approximately 20 minutes operate immediately after the game to allow pedestrians to safely exit. Roads affected by the closures are:

  • Ashton New Road - between Alan Turing Way and Hillkirk Street
  • Grey Mare Lane - between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way

Car parking at the stadium must be booked in advance, with no availability to purchase on the day of the game.

Other parking alternatives include the Metrolink Park & Ride sites, where free parking is offered. Although there are over 20 Park & Ride stops across the Metrolink Network, the following are recommended due to their direct links to the Etihad Campus:

  • Ashton Moss (Ashton line)
  • Ashton West (Ashton line)
  • Ladywell (Ashton-Eccles line)

Entering the stadium

The visitors’ section is located in the South Stand of the stadium and entered via Turnstile’s L1, L2 and L3. Match tickets will specify the correct entrance to use.

All supporters will be searched prior to entering the stadium and search dogs may be present at turnstiles.

Important ticket information

All supporters will have received a mobile ticket, which can be downloaded to an Apple or Google Wallet.

Before arriving at the turnstiles on the day, please ensure your phone has sufficient battery and your ticket is open on your device before reaching the turnstiles. Small portable chargers are permitted into the stadium if required.

All tickets use NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, and tickets will not display a barcode, regardless of device.

Accessibility

Manchester City’s accessible information for away supporters can be found here, with a large amount of guidance available.

All accessible toilets can be opened with a RADAR key, with stewards on hand to assist with directions to nearby facilities.

A Changing Places facility is also available, located in South Stand Level 0.

Access Stewards will be present in accessible viewing areas along with Tottenham Hotspur Access Stewards should any support be required.

Bag policy

Supporters should arrive early to allow plenty of time for security checks. Manchester City will only accept small handheld bags no larger than A4 size (12”x8”x3”).

Backpacks, holdalls, rucksacks, or any similar items, regardless of size, will not be allowed into the stadium. Any bags larger than the permitted size will need to be left at the bag drop facilities until the match is over.

The bag drop service costs £10 per item, with this located in the 'Grey' car park within the away fan compound.

Food and drink

Food units are positioned outside the East Stand, alongside a bar and a retail pop-up.

Concessions on the concourse will be open until the end of half-time, with various options available, including a range of hot and cold food and beverages.

Cashless payments

All payments inside and outside the stadium will be cashless. Major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted.

A variety of hot and cold food and beverages are available.

Smoking

The entire Etihad Campus, including roadways, car parks and concourses, is smoke free. Use of electronic cigarettes is also prohibited.

Medical exemption policy

Any supporters requiring medical exemption to the bag policy, or any prohibited items are strongly advised to contact the Club in advance of travel at access@tottenhamhotspur.com.

Away fan pubs

Visiting supporters are advised that pubs in the vicinity of the stadium are used by home fans, and are advised to utilise venues within the city centre instead.

Spurs Respects

We are proud of our superb and loyal support at home and away.

We recognise that most supporters want to watch a football match and not listen to abusive or indecent language from the stands. Discriminatory or violent behaviour, including racist, homophobic, sexist or anti-disability shouting, chanting or actions, is unacceptable.

The Club reserves the right to indefinitely ban supporters found guilty of using discriminatory language or violent behaviour.

Ticket Office

Tickets can be collected from the away ticket office, which opens two hours before kick-off.

Duplicate tickets must be requested by emailing ticket.office@tottenhamhotspur.com. Duplicate tickets will only be provided upon production of valid photo ID.

Reporting anti-social behaviour

Supporters who witness abusive behaviour at the Etihad Stadium can report it by texting 0770015 1894.

Feedback can be shared anonymously by texting the block, row, seat number and a short description of the incident to the number. Supporters can also report incidents by talking to a steward or the police at the stadium.

Flags and banners

Supporters wishing to display a flag or banner in the visitors’ section are asked to seek permission from Manchester City in advance by emailing mancity@mancity.com with the subject line FAO Security – MCFC v Spurs Flag. Emails should include a photo of the flag and its Fire Safety Certificate, along with its dimensions.

Flags and banners must be no larger than 2m x 1m and must not obstruct the views of others, cover advertising signs or cause a safety hazard. Nor may they display abusive or threatening words, images, political statements or be deemed unacceptable. Flag poles are not permitted. All flags and banners must carry a valid Fire Safety Certificate.

Supporters are also reminded of the Club’s own Flags and Banners Policy which is in effect at away matches.

Unauthorised use of tickets

Supporters are reminded that the unauthorised reselling or passing on of tickets is strictly prohibited. In line with the Club's Sanctions & Banning Policy, supporters found to have purchased tickets and subsequently sold or passed them on to other supporters, or offered for sale, will be subject to sanctions.

Supporters unable to attend

Supporters unable to attend the match should contact the Ticket Office as soon as possible. The Club shall make best endeavours to reallocate tickets to other eligible supporters and issue refunds upon receipt of originally issued tickets.
