Under-21s host Palace in first home game on Friday

Fri 22 August 2025, 00:20|Tottenham Hotspur

A busy start to the season for our Under-21s continues on Friday evening when we host Crystal Palace in our first home Premier League 2 fixture of the campaign (7pm UK, live on SPURSPLAY).

Just fours days on from Monday’s dramatic season opener at Sunderland, where goals from Oli Irow (2), Danta Cassanova, Luca Williams-Barnett and Rio Kyerematen gave us a 5-3 victory, Wayne Burnett’s charges will be in action on home turf as we take on the Eagles at Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium.

Palace are the only team yet to take to the field in the Premier League 2 this season, while we’re facing a hectic schedule with another tough test to come at Bristol Rovers in the Vertu Trophy on Tuesday.

“We’ve had to get ready over the last few days as it’ll be a tough game against Palace,” said Wayne.

“We had a long trip back from Sunderland on Monday evening but we’ve been in all week, preparing well. The games are coming quickly – we play Friday and then again on Tuesday, but that’s the reality for these young players. That’s what the requirements are in the game and they’re going to have to be ready – it’s our responsibility to help them and make sure they are.”

Tickets are available for supporters to come and watch the game in person at Stevenage – they’re priced at £7 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for accompanied under-12s. They’ll be available at the ground on the night, or online in advance via Stevenage’s ticketing website.

Friday’s match will be streamed live on SPURSPLAY, with live in-game text updates available on our Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app.

It’s a busy weekend for our Academy in general – following Friday’s contest, the Under-18s will travel to Norwich City on Saturday, kick-off 12pm. Supporters can follow the action from the Canaries’ training centre via our Match Centre, with live in-game text updates from kick-off.

Full match reports will be available after both games here on tottenhamhotspur.com as usual.
