Dejan Kulusevski scored twice and provided an assist as he captained Sweden to an emphatic 6-0 home win over Azerbaijan on Tuesday evening.

The attacker opened the scoring in the 10th minute before setting up Victor Gyokeres to make it 2-0 with the first of four goals on a personal level in the 26th minute.

Deki later made it 4-0 with 12 minutes of the second half played.

Already assured of promotion to the second tier of the UEFA Nations League, the result cemented top spot in Group C1 for Sweden, with Deki completing the full match. Lucas Bergvall came off the bench midway through the second period with the score at 5-0.

Victory for Sarr, draws for Rodri, Lankshear

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Pape Matar Sarr put in a solid shift for Senegal to help them register a 2-0 win at home to Burundi in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The midfielder started and completed 87 minutes for the hosts, who had already secured their place at next year’s tournament.

Overnight, Rodrigo Bentancur put in a full shift as Uruguay drew 1-1 against Brazil in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying. Real Madrid's Federico Valverde opened the scoring, a goal quickly levelled by Gerson of Flamengo. Uruguay are in a healthy second spot after 12 matches, albeit five points behind leaders and reigning world champions, Argentina. The top six go straight through to the 2026 finals.

Will Lankshear, meanwhile, played 90 minutes for England’s Under-20 Elite League Squad as they drew 1-1 away to Poland.

The young striker had a couple of half-chances but wasn’t able to capitalise on them as the Young Lions continued their unbeaten run in the Elite League and extended their lead at the top of the standings.
